East Silver is the first documentary market dedicated exclusively to Central and Eastern Europe. Its main goal is to provide an annual overview of new documentary releases, and to create a comprehensive catalogue and a digitized video library, accessible to a broad circle of film professionals – broadcasters, major film festivals, sales agents – throughout the year. East Silver's activities also include the East Silver Caravan, the East Silver TV Focus, Silver Eye Awards, and East Silver Online Streaming, all designed to provide distribution support.

Thanks to the substantial help of East Silver we have chosen three documentary films, produced in 2012 and 2013: “Kino Svet” (“Cinema World,” Slovakia 2012), “Die 727 Tage ohne Karamo" (“727 Days Without Karamo,” Austria 2013),  "Sol, maslina, kamen" (“Salt, Olive, Stone,” Croatia 2013). They differ thematically, but each of them touches upon the very important aspect of living in modern Europe: technological changes in relation to the individual and society, emotional complications arising from the regulations of immigration law, life in turmoil, and the few areas free of civilisational commotion. It is worth mentioning that “Die 727 Tage ohne Kamaro” has been screened at this year's Berlinale, and all three films are Polish premieres.
