Szczecin European Film Festival 2018: 15.06.2018, Friday, 18:00
13 muz, (where is that?)
Blok tematyczny: POP SEFF '18
- Całą ciszę / POKÓJ NOCNY3’44”
"When I got invited to create this clip, I thought: 'I'll be able to blow up the room, I'm in!!!!!' There was only one fact I didn't take into account, someone had to clean up afterwards. Please believe me, getting rid of glitter in a 400-meter studio is not an easy task".
- Cuida Coches1’49”
Cuida Coches is a song by Tall Juan dedicated to all those people who live in the street.
Made with acrylics, pastels and pencil on paper.
Dancing with days. Time goes by, days parade… inexorably.
- Flush it out4’07”
Surreal, dark, and full of visual surprises, the video for Likvid’s “Flush It Out” will be paying tribute to the horror genre.
Centering on a “Dracula motive” which develops into a new imagined story, the animation creators Marian Vredik & Jana Hirnerova capture a certain flavour of weirdness, which compliment the undertones and overall mood of the single.
- Hole In The Universe5’47”
An enigmatic music video for the song "Hole in the Universe" by a mysterious niXes band takes the listeners on a metaphysical journey. The person responsible for the production of the video was Marta Kacprzak. The niXes Project musically moves in the neo hippie surf cosmic music style.
- I Promise4’02”
The "I Promise" music video was directed by Michal Marczak, who previously directed a video vignette for Radiohead's ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool (2016), and the video for single "Beautiful People" by Mark Pritchard, featuring Yorke. The video depicts a nighttime bus journey of forlorn passengers, one of whom is a detached robotic head. Robin Hilton of NPR interpreted the video as a reference to the "grueling" schedule and sense of isolation Yorke experienced while on tour for OK Computer.
Surrounded by mountains, an amusement park which brings joy for all spreads its light among the stars. Emerging from the forest, a wild child decides to break all the light beams to restore the true brightness of the sky.
"Monster" is about an inner voice, sitting somewhere deep inside each of us. A voice that often says that we're not good enough, that it's not worth to take up challenges because they will end in failure anyway. It bothers us every day. In interpersonal relations, at work, and doesn't allow us to spread our wings.
The video for the album’s title track is a novel-like declaration based on experiencing emotions, creating a coherent piece with the music and using cinematic language. “Dreaming awake, evoking and experiencing fear channelling from a dark and indescribable shadow” - Norbert Porkoláb
Music video of "Relativity", music by Tó Brandileone, Célso Viáfora and Léo Bianchini, performed by Fran Rosas.
"500 years ago we would take 500 years to get to where we are / Today it takes a minute to in a minute" - a reflection on the relativity of things.
- Religion for Dummies4’49”
An ambitious swindler manages to become an acclaimed religious guru by tricking his followers into cheap magic tricks and ridiculous religious traditions and laws.
This animation made of 2500 paintings tells the story of a man who tries to run away from his fate. He is seeking for success, fame, happiness and love... But the city is too strong and he can't win. Sadly, he becomes a powerless witness of his own fall, just like a bee trapped in a spiderweb.
- Second Hand Lovers3’57”
A young man lives in his bachelor’s apartment which he shares with the memory of all his past relationships.
- Tak to teraz3’45”
"He who sows the wind, gathers the storm." From stagnation to full euphoria, with energy straight from the heart.
Along with Mateusz Dziekoński (DoP), Magdalena Czmuda (producer) from Sputnik Studio (production company) and Studio Miło (post-production) Grajper has created a strange and fascinating version of a retrofuturistic world. It's here where old school Japanese aesthetics meets the worst Orwell's predictions. It may appear surreal to paint prison walls pink like the Tamgotchi eggshell, until you realize that this is the Baker-Miller pink, said to be the color most effectively reducing aggression among inmates.
- Terra Deflorata5’54”
The clip is supposed to make reference to a text by Czesław Niemen – it is to show the condition of the modern human. In order to avoid telling the story literally, we looked for inspiration in Andrzej Wróblewski's painting – we try to incorporate his aesthetics and emotionality into the image.
- The Dance of the Living Stones4’55”
An independent group of young Italian artists; a Sicilian indie-rock band; one of the greatest land-art works in the world and a small, fierce town always fighting to keep its memory alive.
Combining land-art, dance and music is the ultimate goal of “The Dance of the Living Stones”, a project born to illustrate the image of Sicily and a piece of Italian history in a creative way.
Everything is a form of vibration.
One needs to hear it and transform it into music.
The world is a piano and the piano is the world.
The musician becomes the creator of the Word.
A romantic, fairy-tale-like story about the relationship between two sensitive Giants that live in the mountains. Giant Woman decides to seek for help from local peasants to safe her beloved diseased partner.
Uncloud is an experimental short dance project, focusing on the connection between artists and audiences. It's a surprising mix of sci-fi and dance elements, creating a mood piece that questions the nature of control as an audience.
- Viva Gurilla2’59”
A tyrant Gorilla has been sat on the top of a triangle and established his dictatorship under the banner of Viva Guerilla, people can't be disagreed more.
- With my own two hands3’40”
The life of a man through his hands and those around him.
- Youth Is Dead4’59”
‘Youth Is Dead’ is a surreal music video about a man immersed in routine that rediscovers lost feelings through an old photocopy machine.
